Hosting

This website is hosted by Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When the site is accessed, technically required data is processed in server log files (IP address, date and time, requested URL, user agent, referrer). The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and reliable provision of the website). Cloudflare also processes data in the United States. The transfer is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Cloudflare is certified) and EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Server log files

Server logs are kept for the purpose of operational stability and to defend against attacks. They are deleted or anonymized within 30 days at the latest.

SSL/TLS encryption

For security reasons this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the "https://" prefix in your browser's address bar.

Cookies

This website does not set cookies and does not use any tracking that would require your consent.

Web analytics with Cloudflare Web Analytics

For reach measurement I use Cloudflare Web Analytics (provider: Cloudflare, Inc.). Only aggregated statistics are collected (e.g. page views per path, approximate region, device class). No cookies are set, no IP addresses are stored, and no cross-site profiles are created. Identification of individual visitors is not possible. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in privacy-preserving reach measurement).

Contact by email

If you contact me by email, I process your email address and the data contained in your message in order to respond to your request. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (handling an inquiry). The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the stated purpose, at the latest after the expiry of statutory retention obligations.

External links and social media profiles

This website contains links to my profiles on LinkedIn and GitHub. When you click such a link you are forwarded to the respective platform, which applies its own privacy policy. As long as you do not actively click these links, no data is transmitted to those providers.

Your rights

You have the right at any time to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and to object (Art. 21 GDPR). To exercise these rights, please contact me at the email address listed above.

Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority for me is the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (https://datenschutz.hessen.de).

Changes to this policy

I will adapt this privacy policy when legal requirements or the processing described here change.
